Rebel Wilson, an Australian Actress, writer, and producer also. She was known for her comedy role in Pitch Perfect. Born in 1980 in Sydney, She shifted to the United States in 2011. She is the person who can make anyone smile. Her positive vibes are super infectious and can affect everyone in the room. 

She was always recognized for her size in movies compared to other girls. She was a chubby person, whose plus-size and shape can also never stop her from getting success and being known.

Recently, in Rebel wilson  Instagram post, her fans were surprised to see her totally new look. She lost around 35 pounds within a span of a few months. And suddenly people started approaching her to know her weight loss story. She became an inspiration for all the plus size women.

Rebels’ weight loss journey started in the year 2016. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Rebel said, Being unique and different was a really good thing. I walked into my agent’s office for the first time, they looked at me and said, ‘Wow, we have nobody on our books like you’. And they signed me on my second day here…I wouldn’t ever want to compete with what I call ‘the glamours’ – the really gorgeous people. I’m about the brain, the heart and what’s on the inside. I feel really lucky to be the body type I am.”

In the same interview, she also revealed that due to the hormonal imbalance in her body, she used to gain weight. She loves eating food whether she is sad or happy, she can never let go of food. So, if she has a stressful day or she is excited the first thing she will do is either grab an ice cream or dessert.

She never wanted to change the way she looks, she just wished to shed some extra pounds to stay fit and healthy. Emotional eating, anxiety eating or stressful eating is something everyone struggles with.

Therefore, you need to take this seriously, whenever you think you are losing confidence or if something is very hard for you. Then you just need a little motivation to overcome it.

Motivation is something that can make anything possible. Always set a goal for yourself and decide that in just x days, you will have to achieve this goal. So, whenever you feel low, give yourself a boost.

Rebel’s weight loss journey was an inspiration for her female fans. According to her, the negative comments on her body shape hurt her, but that was the true motivation for her.

After knowing about Rebel Wilson, let us see what was her weight loss plan. In order to achieve her target of 35 pounds, she has talked to a few of her friends, who went through the same journey and they advised and motivated her. So she did the following things-

1. Stop counting calories-

We always count the number of calories we consume, when it comes to weight loss. According to Rebel, she stopped counting calorie, instead, she used to track the amount of dietary fiber she used to consume on a daily basis.

She told that counting calories are not good as (a) It is not accurate when it comes to calorie and nutritional value of certain foods. (b) Just because of calorie, you can miss eating some of the good foods which are healthy for your body.

A minimum of 35 grams of calories is a must for weight loss.

Apart from balancing your blood sugar, fiber foods are also good for the digestive system. It helps in maintaining the proper cholesterol level.

2. Consume more vegetables and fruits-

Vegetables and fruits are filled with dietary fiber. They are very beneficial for those, who want to lose weight. The nutrients coming from vegetables and fruits protect you from disease, hair loss, and other health problems.

Some of the good fruits that you can eat for weight loss, which Rebel suggests are-

  • Apples
  • Berries
  • Kiwi
  • Avocados
  • Papaya
  • Grapefruit
  • Melons
  • Oranges
  • Pears
  • Banana

3. Switch to healthy fats-

Healthy fats help to reduce the inflammation-induced weight gain. Rebel used to consume only healthy fats like olive oil, nuts, and seeds to keep herself full and also calm her hunger craving.

  • Have healthy snacks Although Rebel was a food lover, she had to give up the junk food. Eating junk food helps in weight gain very soon. Rebel gave up the junk food and replaced it with healthy snacks like-
  • A handful of cashew, almonds and brazil nuts
  • Celery and apple cider vinegar
  • Zucchini chips
  • Chicken breast with olive oil
  • Carrot and cucumber with guacamole

The above methods are a pretty basic but very effective way to lose weight. You can easily lose around 30 pounds if you follow the above steps genuinely, Rebel was aware of this, and she inculcated all the above things in her lifestyle, which made her lose weight very rapidly.

Rebel Wilson Workout Plan

Weight loss without regular workout is not possible. As an important diet plan is for weight loss, similarly workout plan is. They both go hand in hand. Rebel was very disciplined in her workout. If you check her Instagram profile, you can notice she keeps uploading her workout and cardio sessions.

In 2015, Rebel posted a pic on her insta profile stating that she lost around 8 pounds of weight in just 4 days by Hiking, this shows how regular she was in her workout.

She used to jog and play tennis every day. When she was not indulged in any outdoor activity, she works out at the gym for 3-4 days for at least 30 minutes.

Cardio- In an interview with Hollywood Life, Rebel’s trainer Acero said she has been committed to her daily workout routine, which involves cardio, whether it’s running or walking. 

Wilson does the circuit training in the gym which involves the assault bike, battle rope slams, and TRX squats. “I use the TRX as it focuses on using body weight and gravity as resistance to build strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, core, and joint stability,” Acero said.

Tips from Rebel Wilson Weight Loss

So, with the above workout and diet plan, Wilson made it possible and lost 35 pounds. You too can do it. But the main hard work lies, in staying motivated. Because once you stop the workout and diet plan, you will again gain weight.

Rebel shares some of her secrets, how she is still motivated to stay fit and healthy.

1. Stick to the plan-

Rebel loves to eat, and she loves to have dessert every day. But she also shifts gears from desserts to celery and hummus. And this is what you should be able to do.

It is not that, you can never eat your fav. food from now on. You can have one cheat day in a week, but you have to earn that. When for six days you are committed to your healthy eating plan, then on the seventh day you can eat your favorites.

2. Stay hydrated-

This is very important. Keeping your body hydrated, helps to flush out all the toxins from the body and make it healthy. Many times it happens you are not hungry, just thirsty but instead, you end up eating and consuming calories. So, try to drink a cup of water every hour.

3. Be confident about your body-

Your body shape and size should never be the negative factor for yours. Remember Rebel was known for her positive vibes and her confidence, she never felt ashamed of her body rather she cherished it. So, always be confident about how you look and your body.

Confidence is not something which you can buy, with expensive clothes and jewelry. It only comes when you do the right thing. Love your body, take care of it, eat healthy, sleep well and try to always learn something new.

4. Have a proper 8 hours. Of sleep-

Having proper undisturbed sleep is very necessary while you are thinking of losing weight. After the intense workout and cardio, your body needs proper rest, so that it can gain energy for the next day’s workout. 8 hours of sleep is always recommended.

5. Increase protein diet-

Protein is the building block of the body, this is very true. If you want to lose weight,  you need to switch to more of the protein diet. An increase in protein diet will increase your metabolism and your body will start burning more calories. You can also switch to the keto diet, as keto is all about consuming fewer carbs and have a more protein-rich diet.

So, this was the whole weight loss journey of Rebel Willson. If she can lose weight, so can you. You just need to be motivated and be disciplined about your diet and workout plans.
