A corset being an undergarment you can use in cinching your waist, is from the 1800s and is finding its way back to the current fashion trends and the beauty sector in general. Having seen it with celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Amber Rose, I also wanted to try it out as it seemed to give them a waist and body shape that’s to die for. I also wanted to know how it feels to fit in seated calf raise.

I first knew about waist training when I was 15 years old when I came across an old novel in the library and got curious. This novel starts with a brief description of a girl who is the same age as mine, which made it even more interesting.

According to the novel, the girl was really into waist training, which helped her get the smallest waist in her country and other neighboring ones. I didn’t think about it ever since until the other day when my producer asked me if I could give it a try.

1. First dayworkout

 

I spent the first day just trying to adjust to wearing the waist trainer and understanding how it works. The waist trainer has a hook and eye closure (the time allocated to fasten it, which was about 8 minutes). 

The trainer kept popping open on that day. I don’t want to lie to you so, to be honest, the first day was not easy at all. In the first hour after wearing it, I felt like I couldn’t breathe at all. Sneezing was also a very hard struggle. It was nuts.

When I finally got the waist trainer off, it felt like I had been in the gym the whole day doing things like sit-ups, crunches, and whatever else it is that people do in the gym. My workmates laughed at me when I told them that I took the waist trainer off after two hours only.

It is advisable that you should increase the duration of time you wear the trainer with at least an hour or two. I was to follow that until I could stay in it for a whole day.

2. Second Day and Third Day

On Tuesday and Wednesday, it had got no better as I still found it challenging to get the clasp of the waist trainer to close; you have to ensure that all your muscle gets in there.

I spent a whole hour wearing it and I still felt like I wasn’t wearing it right. On Tuesday, I at least tried and wore it for an entire two and a half hours. That was a really big improvement compared to Monday. Even though it was just thirty minutes improvement, it felt great. I was getting there.

On Wednesday, I swore in my head, and to myself that I would break Tuesday’s record. I guess the thirty-minute improvement I had achieved on Tuesday had motivated me to see I could stay longer than I thought.

I tried my best on Wednesday and wore it for a remarkable three and a half hours. On that day, I started to notice some results. It was great as I bent down easily and ate mac without feeling stuffed. I could finally slouch in my office chair. 

God knows for how long I had been dreaming about being able to do that. What made me feel even better was how my posture had improved in a couple of days. My posture was now perfect, and It felt great

3. Fourth and Fifth Day

On Thursday and Friday, everything was silky smooth. On these two days, I stayed in my waist trainer for up to four hours. I hardly even remembered that I had it the entire time.

After a whole week, I knew I looked nothing like Kim Kardashian or Amber Rose, but one thing I was proud of is the fact that I achieved my goals within an unimaginably short period.

The waist trainer also helped me go back to feeling womanly, and it was the greatest feeling ever. I could now fit in all party dresses without feeling big or anything. It’s not that I miss wearing the corset, but all I am saying is that it made me proud of myself.

Wearing the waist trainer for an entire week and going through all the process and patience to achieve a thin waist made me believe in myself. It also changed me and how I used to think about so many things in life. 

I was naturally the type of person who was always negative about literally everything. A pessimist. All that changed when I looked on the positive side of things for once and decided to try the waist trainer.

I honestly almost gave up on the first day, but I kept going. After a week, I couldn’t believe that being positive has brought me such great results for once. Indeed, everything is possible. You just have to be patient, positive and believe in yourself.
