Yes, I can say that because I am in love with Pumpkin and whenever people come to know about it, they actually give me a weird look.  Pumpkin is a vegetable that belongs to the Cucurbita family. In the US, this vegetable is of immense popularity as it is used for Halloween decoration. But do you that there are some amazing benefits of pumpkin for skin, hair and health.

Pumpkin is a very nutritious vegetable rich in vitamin A, fibres, vitamin C, potassium, vitamin B2 etc. It is very beneficial for taking care of skin and hair. You can either consume pumpkin by cooking it or can also make pumpkin pie. We have brought to you some DIY pumpkin hair and skin masks.

1. Good for Oily Skin-

Summer is a tuff season for people with oily skin. Well, you can try this amazing pumpkin face mask to control the sebum production and get rid of oily skin.

Face Mask:

  • Take 1 tbsp. of Pumpkin puree
  • Add 1 tbsp. of ACV
  • Mix the ingredients properly
  • Apply the mask on the damp face
  • Let the mask stay for 30 minutes
  • Rinse off the mask with lukewarm water.

2. Hydrates Dry Skin-

Just as useful pumpkin is for oily skin, it is also effective to hydrate the dry skin and keep it moisturized.

Face Mask:

  • Take 2 tbsp. cooked pumpkin puree
  • Add ¼ tsp. of honey and ¼ tsp. of milk
  • Also, add ¼ tsp. of whipping cream
  • Mix all the ingredients properly
  • Apply the mask on your face
  • Let it stay for 10-15 minutes.
  • Rinse off the mask with warm water and then apply moisturizer on it.

3. Prevents Aging-

No one like to look aged. But slowly slowly due to stress, pollution and improper skincare we lose our skin elasticity and it looks aged. Pumpkin is a good source of vitamin C and beta-carotene, it helps to reverse the UV damage and promotes the skin collagen.

Face Mask-

  • Take 1 tsp. of Pumpkin puree
  • Add 1 tsp. of Raw honey and ½ tbsp. of Bentonite clay
  • Mix the ingredients properly
  • Apply the mask on your face and let it stay for 5 minutes
  • Wash off the mask with cold water.

4. Treatment of Dark Spots-

Dark spots are no good, they make our eye skin dark and also they are not easy to remove. The best way to fade away the dark spots is to use DIY face pack.

Face Mask-

  • Take 1 tbsp. of Pumpkin puree
  • Add 1 tsp. of Honey and 1 tsp. of Lemon juice         
  • Also, add 1 tsp. of Vitamin E oil.
  • Mix all the ingredients to make a paste
  • Apply the paste on your face and let it dry for 30 minutes
  • Wash off the face mask with lukewarm water.

5. Pumpkin Body Mask-

Might sound strange, but is very effective. Using a pumpkin body mask helps to relax and refresh your skin. It tightens the skin and also makes it clean and clear.

Body Mask:

  • Take ½ cup of cooked pumpkin puree.
  • Add ½ cup coconut solids in it.
  • Also add ½ tsp. cinnamon in the above ingredients.
  • Apply the body mask all over your body
  • Massage the mask gently, and let it stay for 10 minutes.
  • Rinse it off with warm water.

6. Removes Acne-

The best way to remove acne and get clear and healthy skin is to use a DIY pumpkin mask. It helps to treat discolouration, dark spots, acne and blemishes making skin brighter and refreshed.

Face Mask:

  • Take 2 tbsp. of fresh pumpkin puree
  • Add 1.5 tbsp. glycolic acid and ¼ tsp. of nutmeg
  • Mix all the ingredients together and prepare a mask
  • Apply the mask on your face and let it stay for 15 minutes
  • Wash it off with lukewarm water.

Hair Mask:

  • Take 1 cup Pumpkin puree
  • Add 2 tbsp. of Coconut oil
  • And add 2 tbsp. of Honey
  • Mix all the ingredients to make a hair mask
  • Apply the mask on your hair strands and scalp
  • Let the mask stay for 20 minutes
  • Rinse out the pumpkin hair mask with lukewarm water.

8. Provides Conditioning to Hair-

Our hair needs proper conditioning, to lock the moisture in the hair and keep them soft and smooth. Conditioning of hair helps to keep the hair strands nourished and also strengthens the hair follicles.

Hair Mask:

  • Take 2 cups of fresh pumpkin puree
  • Add 1 tbsp. of coconut oil and 1 tbsp. of honey in it
  • Also, add 1 tbsp. of yoghurt in it.
  • Apply the hair mask on the damp shampooed hair.
  • Let it stay for 15 minutes
  • Rinse it off.
