Rediscover Boredom to Discover New Ideas:

It’s only a matter of time before you run out of ideas. Even if you’re creative by nature, life can be so draining that you find yourself running low in the artistic department. It might not be too extreme that you get fired from your job, but you can see if your work has lost the passion you once had.

Before things get there, rediscover boredom and spark new ideas.

Boredom is inevitable when your life has remained the same for a while. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. Perhaps you’ve peaked, and reaching the next milestone in your life is a few years away. This doesn’t mean you’re aimless. You’re just stuck, and you need something new. Simply put pen to paper and let your hands draw what they want.

It’s a good way to free up space in your mind and it’s a relaxing way to let ideas flow. That doodle you’re working on might take shape and give you something new to use for your next project.

3 Things to do Getting Bored

1. Try a New Hairstyle

You might feel bored and stuck because you’ve had the same look for as long as you can remember. Take one day when you’re at home to try different hairstyles. You don’t have to wear your new ‘do anywhere–you can just stay indoors and see how different you look.

If you find something you like, go with it next time you go to work and be ready for all the compliments. A change in how you look can be enough to motivate you to try something new with work, and that can bring forth new ideas.

2. Experiment with Makeup

Aside from a different hairstyle, you can also change your appearance by wearing makeup differently. If you’ve always been a fan of red lipstick, try nudes for a week. Try the other shades in your eyebrow palette. You can even buy new cosmetic products online–items you haven’t used before–and see what they can do for your confidence.

Your ideas are anchored to your confidence, and it’s hard to be confident if you don’t love the way you look.

Take it even further by wearing different clothes than the office knows you for. Next afternoon you’re free, instead of being on your phone the whole time, look at your wardrobe and wear the items you haven’t seen in a while.

3. Take a Walk

The simple act of walking can already be the perfect solution to your problems. You’re wasting time unnecessarily if you just stay at home, keep glued to Netflix, and complain that you have no new ideas.

Let yourself be bored enough to change to your running shoes and take a walk around the neighborhood. Try a different running path.

Take your dog with you. It’s a relaxing way to unwind, and you can also see so many interesting things that can give you new ideas. Life is full of inspiring people and events if only you go out and take a look.

How much of your time do you spend complaining about being bored? Next time you feel bored, go ahead and try new things.
