Having frizzy hair is the most frustrating thing in life. Well, I understand this as I am also the victim of Frizzy hair. Be it rainy season or summer season, frizzy hair never leaves you alone. Even you cannot plan a surprise visit out because of your hair. All we ever see is a Bird’s Nest on our head. Frizzy hair makes us look embarrassing, but the volume it gives us makes us feel we do not take care of our hair. So, how to get rid of frizzy hair?

Frizzy hair is the result of dry and dull hair. The lack of moisturization is the problem with frizzy hair. 1. Almond Oil and Egg-

Almond oil is an amazing way to moisturize and hydrate your hair. It acts as an emollient and helps to repair the damaged hair. Egg on the other hand controls the frizz and provides protein to hair strands. One of the best hair mask to reduce frizzy hair.

Hair Mask:

  • Take 1 raw egg.
  • Break it and whisk it properly.
  • Add ¼ cup of almond oil.
  • Mix the ingredients to get a smooth mixture.
  • Apply the mask on your hair strands and scalp.
  • Let the mask stay for 40 minutes.
  • Wash off the mask with a good shampoo and conditioner.

2. Avocado Mask-

Avocado is considered a magical fruit that is very beneficial for both skin and hair. Loaded with vitamin B and E, an Avocado hair mask repair the damaged hair and nourishes them. Yoghurt in the mask helps to make hair soft and smooth.

Hair Mask:

  • Take 1 ripe Avocado and peel it off.
  • Mash the Avocado and make a paste of it.
  • Add 2 tbsp. of Yogurt in it.
  • Apply the mask on your hair and let it stay for 40-45 minutes.
  • After the mask dries up, wash it off with hydrating shampoo and conditioner.

3. Banana-

Bananas are a great fruit to provide instant energy. Loaded with amazing nutrients, this fruit acts as a great conditioner for hair. It helps to get rid of frizzy hair, makes hair soft and shiny too. When mixed with well-known humectant honey, it becomes one amazing hair mask.

Hair Mask:

  • Take 1 ripe banana and mash it completely.
  • Add 2 tsp. of honey and 1/3 cup of almond oil in it.
  • Mix the ingredients to make a smooth paste.
  • Apply the mixture to your scalp and hair.
  • Let the mask dry naturally or keep it for 45 minutes.
  • Shampoo your hair after washing it with lukewarm water.

4. Mayonnaise-

Many people don’t know that even Mayonnaise makes a very good hair mask. It helps to control the frizzy hair, provides them nourishment and also adds an extra layer of moisture to the hair. Using a mayonnaise hair mask will give you soft and shiny hair.

Hair Mask:

  • Take ¼ cup of Mayonnaise
  • Add 1/3 cup of Almond oil and 1 egg in it.
  • Mix the ingredients to get a smooth mixture.
  • Apply the mask on your hair strands and scalp.
  • Cover the mask with a hot towel.
  • Shampoo your hair after 30 minutes.

5. Lemon and Honey-

This DIY hair mask for frizzy hair helps to get rid of all the build-up and dirt from hair. It improves the hair cuticles, makes it healthy and reduces frizz. Vitamin C in lemon juice helps to boost hair growth.

Hair Mask:

  • Take 2 tbsp. of Lemon juice
  • Add 2 tbsp. of Honey
  • And 1 cup Water
  • Mix the ingredients together.
  • Apply the mixture on your scalp and hair strands.
  • Massage the mixture for 10 minutes.
  • Rinse it off with lukewarm water and shampoo.

6. Honey and Yogurt-

A perfect combination to get rid of frizzy hair and to make hair soft, smooth and shiny. Yogurt is one effective deep conditioner, which makes your hair healthy and also helps you to get rid of frizzy hair. Honey nourishes hair and scalp and makes hair shinier.

  • Take 2-3 tbsp. of Yogurt
  • Add 1 tbsp. of Honey in it

7. Aloe Vera-

  • Take ¼ cup of Aloe vera gel.
  • Add ¼ cup of Any carrier oil in it.

  • Wash it off after 20-30 minutes with mild shampoo and conditioner.

8. Apple Cider Vinegar-

Being acidic in nature, not many people prefer it for their hair. But ACV is a real hair texture booster. It helps to balance the pH level of your scalp and cleans the open cuticles. ACV also helps to remove any dirt and grease from your hair, making it clean and healthy.

Hair Mask:

  • Take 2 tbsp. of ACV
  • Add 2 cups of water in it.
  • Wash your hair with shampoo as usual.

9. Coconut Milk-

  • Take one ripe pumpkin
  • Make a puree of it.
  • Add 2 tbsp. of honey in it.
  • Mix the ingredients well.
  • Apply the mask on your hair and scalp
  • Let it stay for 15 minutes.
  • Wash and shampoo your hair.

11. Hot Oil Massage-

The best way to take care of your hair is to pamper them with Hot oil massage once a week. Oils help to nourish and hydrate your hair, it keeps them healthy and frizz-free. There are many oils that you can use and each one has a different property. Following are some oil which you can use for hot oil massage.

  • Argan oil- It is rich in unsaturated fatty acid, which helps to remove split ends and also repair damaged hair.
  • Coconut oil- One of the most penetrative hair oil. It makes your hair healthy and strong.
  • Almond oil- Loaded with vitamin E, Almond oil is also rich in antioxidant property which helps to remove free radicals from hair.

Bonus Tips to Get Rid of Frizzy Hair

Apart from above home remedies, there are some bonus tips which help you to get rid of frizzy hair. Check them out-

  • Use a gentle sulfate-free shampoo with Glycerine as an ingredient.
  • Sleep on satin pillowcases, they reduce the friction and also does not rip out the natural oil.
  • Do not comb your hair. Always untangle them with your hand when you apply conditioner.
  • Avoid styling your hair as much as you can.
  • Do not rub your hair with towel. Instead, use a microfiber towel, it reduces friction.
  • Always wash your hair with lukewarm or cold water, do not use hot water.
  • Do not shampoo your hair more often.
  • Use Leave-in conditioner to manage your frizziness.
  • Choose shampoo and conditioner with hydrating and moisturizing label on it.
  • Get a good haircut. Trim your curls every two months to remove split ends.
