DIY Skin Care Recipes You Can Make Easily

1. Facial Scrub-

Scrubbing or Exfoliating is very important for skin. It helps to remove dead skin cells from the face and make it clean and clear. You should scrub your face twice a week, daily scrubbing can cause skin breakout.

DIY Face Scrub for Sensitive Skin:

  • Take ½ cup of uncooked oats
  • Grind it properly
  • Whenever you wish to use,
  • Take 1 tbsp. of Oats powder
  • Mix little water in it
  • Apply the paste on your face
  • Massage gently.

DIY Face Scrub for Dry Skin:

  • Take ¼ cup of plain, uncooked oats
  • Add 1/8 cup of raw honey in it
  • Also add 1/8 cup of jojoba oil
  • Mix all the ingredients in a bowl.
  • Apply it to skin and scrub it gently.
  • Rinse it off with lukewarm water after a minute.

DIY Face Scrub for Oily Skin:

  • Take 1 apple, peel it and grate it.
  • Add ½ tbsp. of organic honey in it.
  • And ½ tbsp. of jojoba oil
  • Mix the ingredients together
  • Apply the scrub on your face and massage for one minute
  • Wash it off with lukewarm water.

2. Face Masks-

Using homemade face mask is very important. They help to moisturize and nourish the skin and also improve skin texture. Using face masks alternate day helps to tone and brighten up the skin.

DIY Face Mask for Oily Skin:

  • Take 1 tbsp. of Besan or Chickpea Flour
  • Add a pinch of turmeric
  • Make a paste with the help of yoghurt.
  • Apply it to your face
  • Let it dry naturally and wash it off with normal water.

DIY Face Mask for Dry Skin:

  • Take 1 tbsp. of milk   
  • Add 1 tbsp. of honey
  • 1 tbsp. of aloe vera gel
  • And 2 drops of essential oil in it
  • Mix all the ingredients and make a proper paste of it.
  • Apply it on your face.
  • Wash it off after 15 minutes.

DIY Face Mask for Aging Skin:

  • Take 1 tbsp. of banana, peel it and mash it.
  • Add 1 tbsp. of rose water in it.
  • Mix the ingredients well and apply it on your face
  • Let the paste dry for 15-20 minutes.
  • Rinse it off with cold water.

3. Face Toner-

We often underestimate the toner, but toner helps to deep cleanse the pores, minimize them and also tones the skin. Toner balances your skin’s pH value and make your skin clean and clear. Following are some toner which you can make at home-

DIY Toner for Dry Skin: This toner is hydrating and packed with antioxidants.

  • Take ½ cup of Aloe vera
  • Mix it with ½ cup of Rose water
  • Shake the mixture properly
  • Your Face toner is ready
  • Apply it on your clean face.

DIY Toner for Aged Skin: You need a toner which is moisturizing and loaded with antioxidants, to prevent the skin damage.

  • Take ¼ cup of Green tea
  • Add 1/8 cup of Pomegranate puree
  • Make a proper solution by adding 1/8 cup of water
  • Store the toner in a spray bottle and store in refrigerator.

DIY Toner for Pigmented Skin: You need ingredients which can reverse the damage and make the acne look less noticeable.

  • Take ½ lemon juice.
  • Add 3 tbsp. of coconut water
  • Mix them properly and pour it in the spray bottle.

DIY Toner to Minimize Pore Size: Many times this problem is of oily skin people. Witch hazel is a perfect ingredient to minimize the pore size.

  • Take 2 tbsp. of witch hazel
  • Add 3 drops of aloe vera
  • Your DIY face toner is ready.

4. DIY Eye Cream-

Daily working on laptop/ computer for 10-12 hours, makes our eyes puffy. The stress and bad lifestyle adds on it, and gives dark circles. Eye cream is very necessary to moisturise and hydrate the sensitive skin around the eye. Also dark circles are considered as the first sign of aging. Check out the DIY Eye Cream-

DIY Eye Cream for Dark circles:

  • Take a little of Cucumber and Mint leaves
  • Blend them together to make a paste
  • Add 3tbsp. of Milk
  • 1 tbsp. of Aloe vera gel
  • And 3 tbsp. of Almond oil
  • Mix the ingredients properly and you will get a paste
  • Apply the paste and let it stay for 10 minutes.

DIY Eye Cream for Fine lines:

  • Take 1tsp. of Aloe vera gel
  • Add 1 Vitamin E capsule in it
  • Mix the ingredients together
  • Apply the cream on the under-eye region.
  • Store it in the refrigerator.

5. DIY Face Moisturizer-

No matter the skin type, it is necessary to use moisturizer on face. Moisturizer helps to make skin soft and smooth. It provides nourishment to the skin   and protects it from external damage. You can either use the moisturizer you have been using from such long time or you can try this DIY face moisturizer.

DIY Moisturizer for Dry Skin:

  • You need 3 tbsp. of Beeswax
  • 3 tbsp. of Almond oil
  • 1 tbsp. of Avocado oil
  • 2 drops of Lavender oil
  • 1 drop of Peppermint oil
  • Melt Beeswax and all the oils in a double boiler.
  • Add warm mineral water slowly to the melted beeswax, and keep stirring.
  • Let the beeswax cooled down.
  • Add essential oil in it and stir vigorously.
  • Your homemade moisturizer is ready.
  • Store it in a cool and safe place.

6. Facial Serum-

Facial serum is very good for skin. They get absorbed quickly and helps to brighten and tone the skin. Face serum are mostly oil or water based. They should be used after cleansing the skin but before applying moisturizer. So, let’s make our very own Facial Serum-

 DIY Face Serum for Oily Skin:

  • Take 1 tbsp. of Jojoba oil
  • Add 1 tbsp. of Grapeseed oil
  • And 6-9 drops of Neroli essential oil
  • Mix all of them properly in a glass bottle.

DIY Face Serum for Dry Skin:

  • Take 1 tbsp. of Argan oil
  • Mix 1 tbsp. of Sweet Almond oil
  • And 6-9 Geranium Essential oil
  • Add all the three oils in a glass bottle and shake them.

DIY Face Serum for Sensitive Skin:

  • Take 1 tbsp. of Primrose oil
  • 1 tbsp. of Jojoba oil
  • And 6-9 drops of Chamomile essential oil
  • Mix all the three essential oil in a glass bottle
  • Shake it well before use.
