Altered Carbon

The sci-fi cyberpunk series Altered Carbon premiered on Netflix in 2018 and has thankfully been renewed for a second season. The rugged and handsome Joel Kinnaman stars as Takeshi Kovacs, which in turn is also played by multiple actors as the series progresses in a futuristic San Francisco set 360 years later known as Bay City. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

This truly chilling series is an American supernatural horror coming of age adventures of a teen half witch. It is centered and based on the Archie Comics character Sabrina Spellman, played by Kiernan Shipka, and stars Ross Lynch, Lucy Davis, Chance Perdomo, Michelle Gomez, Jaz Sinclair, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, Richard Coyle, and Miranda Otto in supporting roles.

Grace and Frankie

Created by Marta Kauffman and Howard Morris, ‘Grace and Frankie’ is a five-time Emmy nominated comedy-drama series starring the elegant Jane Fonda and hilarious Lily Tomlin as central characters. Premiering its fifth season in early 2019, the series follows two unlikely friends who are brought together after their husbands declare that they are in love with each other and plan to get married. This outstanding portrayal of the early years of the criminal psychology and criminal profiling at the FBI has been renewed for a second season. It revolves around agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany), along with smart psychologist Wendy Carr (Anna Torv), who form the FBI’s Behavioural Science Unit within the Training Division at the FBI Academy. The show’s premise involves real-life interviews of imprisoned serial killers (played by actors) to understand how they think, with the hope of applying this knowledge to solve ongoing or prevent future cases. This is based on the true crime book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit written by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker.

The Punisher

Another product of the MCU, Marvel’s ‘The Punisher’ is based on the comics of the same name. It shares the continuity of the movies and other tv franchises and is a spin-off of the Daredevil and revolves around John Bernthal – Frank Castle as the eponymous character that uses lethal methods to fight crimes. The Punisher is known to uncover a conspiracy and exact revenge on those responsible for the death of his family.

Master of None

Winner of three Emmys and a golden globe this comedy-drama series has received much critical acclaim and multiple award nominations. Released for streaming in 2015, the show was created by Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang with Ansari starring in the lead as a 30-year-old actor, Dev Shah.
